A medium size bedroom is available in my large three bedroom apartment in Astoria for October 1. It has two windows and a large closet. Large air conditioner in dining room which cools the entire main area. Communal closet in dining room and storage space available in clean basement. Only three apartments in the building. A few blocks away from astoria park and the astoria beer garden. 10 min walk to subway at Astoria Blvd stop, N and Q….20 minutes to the city. For Rent: Room in 4bedroom on UWS

May 19th, 2010

As of June 1st, we will have one bedroom available in our 4 bedroom apartment located on W. 111th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam. The apartment is on the ground floor, and the room is located on the lower level (though there is still a window large enough for an air conditioner, which faces the courtyard, not street side). There are four bedrooms and three full baths as well, so you would only need to share a bathroom with one other person. The room is very large and can easily fit a full or queen bed, dresser, desk, etc. There is a large living area which we all share, along with a full eat-in kitchen. The communal areas are all furnished, so you would just need items for your room.

The apartment is just one block away from the 1 train and a 24 hour grocery store, with plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. There’s laundry in the basement. We are two guys and one girl, all in our late twenties/early thirties. If you’re interested, please email us a little bit about yourself and we’ll get back with you about a time to come see the apartment. $1000/month

Map of location

Our roommate plans on moving out May 23nd, so move in date is flexible. Sublet is preferred for long-term but flexible with short-term.

Looking for a studio/1bedroom in NYC

May 17th, 2010

I’m looking for a room to rent ($1000 or less) in NYC beginning around June or onwards – preferably a studio, a shoebox for one, or a shared place with 1-2 people. Although I love them, I’m allergic to cats and dogs. I am pretty open as far as far as location goes but I do like to live near public transit.

About me:
- I’m a 33 year old non-smoking woman, also an omnivorous, non-profity
lover of bikes.
- By night I work as an artist/writer. By day I work part-time as the director of an art and architecture program; the other part-time job is with a social justice organization that advocates on behalf of street vendors. All in all this makes me pretty busy.  I’m not really a partier type.
- I’m pretty organized.
- For better or worse, I don’t really have very much furniture except a
table and set of chairs, some art supplies, some books, and a makeshift
bed.
- They say I am pretty low maintenance and pretty adaptable.
- And I’m nice!

If you are looking for a roommate or know of an apartment that fits my needs, please contact Marisa at hello@marisajahn.com
